DRILL 1

HANDSTAND FALL ONTO BACK

Focuses on the layout position in especially in the last 1/2 rotation.

FOCUS POINTS

 A 

Fall onto the back keeping the whole body tight.

 

 B 

As soon the gymnast starts falling, pull the arms to the thighs and tuck the chin in.

 

 C 

Chin tucked in and hollow body position with hands on the thighs.

PREREQUISITES
  • Handstand - D4

EQUIPMENT
  • 3 x Running blocks

  • 1 x Soft incline

DRILL 2

STANDING FRONT LAYOUT TO ARMS DOWN LANDING

Focusing on extending the hips and start the rotation from the arms and upper body combined with the layout position.

FOCUS POINTS

 A 

Drive the heels backwards by squeezing the glutes.

 B 

Chin tucked in and hollow body position with hands on the thighs.

  • Front pike - D1

EQUIPMENT
  • 3 x Running blocks

  • 1 x Soft incline

DRILL 3

SET FRONT LAYOUT TO INCLINE ON LEVEL TRAMPETTE

Combining the Front layout with the set in trampette. Focusing on correct technique from set to landing.

FOCUS POINTS

 A 

Arms move in a backward circle.

 

 B 

Chin tucked in and hollow body position with hands on the thighs.

PREREQUISITES
  • Front pike - D2

EQUIPMENT
  • 4 x Running blocks

  • 1 x Trampette

  • 1 x High soft landing

  • 1 x Soft incline

DRILL 4

SET FRONT LAYOUT ON LEVEL TRAMPETTE

Executing the Front layout to landing on the feet, before we add the run-up to the trampette.

FOCUS POINTS

 A 

Arms move in a backward circle.
