DRILL 1

FRONT LAYOUT 180°, JUMP 180° TO THE STOMACH

The focus of this drill is to train the gymnast in not twisting too early and too fast.

FOCUS POINTS

 A 

Start the layout and make a late half twist.

 B 

After landing the half twist, the gymnast must keep the upper body hollow and use the bounce from the mat to jump a half twist to the stomach.

PREREQUISITES
  • Front layout 180°

EQUIPMENT
  • 4 x Running blocks

  • 1 x Landing mat

  • 1 x Soft mat

  • 1 x Trampette

DRILL 2

FRONT LAYOUT 360° TO THE BACK

This drill is focusing on finishing the twist while remaining in a strong position.

FOCUS POINTS

 A 

Start the layout before starting the twist. Keep the chin tucked in.

EQUIPMENT
  • 4 x Running blocks

  • 1 x Landing mat

  • 1 x Soft incline

  • 1 x Trampette
