Trampette hurdle

DRILL 1

KNEELING ARM CIRCLE

This drill isolates the movement of the arms in the Trampette Hurdle.

FOCUS POINTS

 A1 

Arms move in a large backwards circle.

 

 A2 

Keep a hollow upper body and a strong core.

EQUIPMENT
  • 2 x Running blocks

DRILL 2

JUMP ARM CIRCLE

Focus on the movement of the arms and a punch to straight jump.

FOCUS POINTS

 A 

Arms move in a large backwards circle.

 B 

The arms are pointing down, when the feet hit the running block.

​

 C 

In the straight jump, the arms are by the ears and the core is tight.

EQUIPMENT
  • 1 x Running block

DRILL 3

STRAIGHT JUMP ON LEVEL TRAMPOLINE FROM PLATEAU

Focus on the movement of the arms and a punch to straight jump.

FOCUS POINTS

 A 

Arms move in a large backwards circle.

 

 B 

The arms are pointing down, when the feet hit the trampoline.

 C 

In the straight jump, the arms are by the ears and the core is tight.

EQUIPMENT
  • 4 x Running blocks

  • 1 x Trampette

  • 1 x High soft landing

DRILL 4

FOAM TRAINER TO SEATED POSITION

This drill teaches the gymnast the proper position when they hit the trampette.

FOCUS POINTS

 A 

Arms move in a backwards circle.

 

 B 

When feet hit the foam trainer the hip should be between 90-135°.

EQUIPMENT
  • 1 x Foam Trainer

  • 1 x Soft mat

  • 3 x Running blocks

DRILL 5

STRAIGHT JUMP ON TRAMPETTE

The elevated run-up forces the gymnast to make a lower Hurdle into the trampette instead of a high jump.

FOCUS POINTS

 A 

Arms move in a backwards circle.

 B 

When feet hit the trampette the hip should be between 90-135°.

​

 C 

In the straight jump, the arms are by the ears and the core is tight.

  • 1 x Trampette

  • 1 x High soft landing

  • 3 x Running blocks
